Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kanjiru, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Kanjiru is a Japanese kanji learning application that provides interactive games, reading exercises, and study tools to help users learn and practice kanji characters.

Subscriptions & Billing

• Kanjiru offers optional premium subscriptions that unlock additional features and remove usage limits.
• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests must be directed to Apple.

Free Tier

Kanjiru offers a free tier with limited daily game plays. Free users have access to core learning features. Premium features and unlimited game plays require an active subscription.

User Accounts

• You may create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, or use the app as a guest.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• Guest accounts store data locally only. Signing in enables cloud sync and cross-device access.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
• Redistribute or resell content from the app.

Intellectual Property

All content in Kanjiru, including but not limited to text, graphics, user interface design, game mechanics, and software code, is the property of Kanjiru or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Kanji character data is sourced from publicly available educational resources.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Kanjiru is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that learning outcomes will be achieved. The app is an educational tool and is not a substitute for formal language instruction.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kanjiru and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data or learning progress.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time through Settings.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top when changes are made.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of the jurisdiction in which Kanjiru operates.
